Abuja - Nigerian President Umaru Yar `Adua was flown home to the country's capital, Abuja, Tuesday, three months after he went through treatment in Saudi Arabia, several sources said the Nigerian government and airport officials in Saudi Arabia.
"The President departed at 22:22 local time Wednesday (02:22 GMT) alone on a plane and another aircraft carrying a group of Nigerian government," said officials at Jeddah airport.
No information on health conditions.
The Nigerian government officials and could not be reached for comment.
Soldiers and armed police personnel arrived at the presidential wing of Abuja airport, said an eyewitness.
Leaders of 58-year-old was left Nigeria in late November to receive medical treatment at a clinic in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, because of suffering from heart membrane sac, inflammation of the membrane around the heart which can restrict a normal pulse.
Absence makes the country's most densely populated in Africa to the brink of a constitutional crisis and threatens to paralyze government activities, to Vice President Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in as acting presdien two weeks earlier.
Both presidential palace, the ruling party and the cabinet has not given details of Yar `Adua's health since shortly after he left, triggering speculation about the actual condition.
A delegation of Nigerian minister visited Saudi Arabia, Monday, to know their president's health development and has been expected to give a report on weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
